R. Casey Cline Boise State University
Casey Cline is an Assistant Professor in the Construction Management Department within the College of Engineering at Boise State University. Cline earned a B.S. in business administration from Oklahoma State University, an M.S. in construction science from the University of Oklahoma, and a Ph.D. in education (adult development organizational learning) from the University of Idaho. His educational research interests are focused on improving construction management processes to facilitate the efficient management of construction projects. His more than 25 years of construction industry experience, which includes work in commercial, industrial, petrochemical, light commercial, and residential construction. He has held positions as Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, Field Engineer, Carpenter, and laborer.
Kirsten A. Davis Boise State University
Kirsten A. Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Construction Management Department within the College of Engineering at Boise State University. Davis earned a B.Arch. in architecture and a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee, a M.S. in civil engineering specializing in construction engineering and management from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Ph.D. in civil engineering specializing in construction engineering and management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Her educational research interests are focused on improving construction management education.
Abstract
How Individuals Learn Fall Protection X. XXXXX XXXXX, Ph.D. and XXXXXXX X. XXXXX, Ph.D. XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX Department of Construction Management XXXXX, XXXXXAbstractTo effectively train construction personnel in construction safety means and methods it must bedetermined from whom employees learn and how knowledge is most effectively transferred tothose employees. The primary goals of this research were to assess the effectiveness of fallprotection training of commercial construction entities as well as determine best practicemethodologies for the delivery of fall protection training to construction personnel. Assessmentsof training needs were conducted through the examination of existing training practices. Bestpractice methodologies for the delivery of fall protection training to construction personnel weredetermined through the analysis of data collected from interviews and surveys of constructionentity employees regarding existing fall protection training practices.Key Words: Safety, Fall Protection, Training.
