Abstract

New trends of quality education have emerged in several Countries in the last years. It is a consequence of a new world order where all the education institutions are working hard to adapt to the global and changing work market once its mission is to provide professionals with capacity of acting for the betterment of society. Society is understood in this case as a concept of human beings sharing the same space and connected by the use of new technologies of information. In other words the society of 21st Century the so called global interconnected world. Following the emerging new trends in high education COPEC – Council of researches in education and sciences has started a new program in according to the new strategies adopted by the organization in order to accomplish its main goal of providing high level of education and research. COPEC is offering a new Activity in “Study Abroad”, which is a 15 days spent in Atlantic Forest Region at the São Paulo State, South of Brazil. It is dimensioned for students in Engineering, Technology and Business Administration Fields. The Program includes visit to Enterprises and Universities and social activities, which will provide the students a great experience and discovering a different world. The accomplishment of the program can be done in other regions of the Country in according to the needs or the desire of the group. The previous experiences has showed positive aspects of such program like the opportunity for students and teachers to intensify the exchange of ideas and experience despite the fact that all the involved people have a chance to develop projects in joint ventures. For the students may be the best aspect is the life time experience to know more about a different culture and explore the working world in a nice and safe environment. In 2007, in May around 3 students of a group will remain and live in town for three months and will conceive and develop a project in a joint venture with a local researcher of any education institution, private or public. It can be in any field of engineering, technology and business administration.

1. Introduction

Sustainable development with social promotion of individuals and society has been the constant search of scientists, educators and some politicians not only of this Nation but also worldwide. Despite the efforts of so many educators the present status of Education is not yet as good as it should be.
