AB  - Background: The challenges facing today's engineers are so complex that they require teamwork with the involvement of professionals in various fields. Due to the sharp increase and complexity of new knowledge, one person is no longer able to master all the necessary materials and methods for the solution of a problem, so the background of deepening specialization increases the value of the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. As a result, a growing importance of the social and psychological, communicative skills for the training of engineers and other technical personnel has become evident, which generally manifests itself in the form of "humanization" of Higher Engineering Education. As an example we present the experience of Kazan State Technological University, where the discipline "Workforce Psychology" for several years is included in the curriculum of Bachelor of various technical areas.

Methods:  The student’s knowledge and skills in Workforce Psychology would benefit significantly if during the training the following methods are practiced: (i) socio-psychological  trainings; (ii) simulation games; (iii) interactive group activities. 

Results: Experience of teaching the social-psychological disciplines and feedback of students who attended the course of "Workforce Psychology" shows that the acquired knowledges are highly valued by students of these professions as are universal and can be used in the process of mastering the profession and in the future professional activity.

Conclusions: Modern engineers must have not only a special technical training, but also social and psychological skills for successful interaction with team members.
