Abstract

Faculty DevelopmentConsulting Activities for Faculty Development and Case Studies forProblem-based Learning Course in Engineering EducationProf. Minhee Shin, Ph.D(minhees@seoultech.ac.kr)Seoul National University of Science and Technology, South Korea, 139-743The purpose of this presentation is to introduce consulting activities andprocesses for implementing problem-based learning in terms of facultydevelopment. Faculty development activities include consulting processes of providing teaching-learning models, guidelines for developing problem scenarios, teaching tips for learningfacilitation and evaluation tools for implementing performance assessment. Case studies ofproblem-based courses can be examined. Course titles, problem scenarios, PBL proceduresand students' learning experience are provided. Several tips for faculty development arerecommended.
