Abstract

Implementing the Masters for Engineering Professionals Degree at NJITAbstract This paper reports on the plan for implementing the Masters for EngineeringProfessionals at New Jersey Institute of Technology and other major universities. TheMasters for Engineering Professionals is intended for the early career development ofengineers in industry. It teaches the skills, knowledge and applications required of theseengineers. Program emphasis is placed upon engineering creativity and innovation. Itplaces a strong emphasis on the needs of the nation to compete in the world market andmaintain the strength of the U.S. economy. The paper includes a detailed description ofthe NJIT curriculum and the assessment process used to evaluate defined outcomes.
