AB  -   Design and Development of Project Management Course for Civil and Architectural Engineers                                   Gouranga Banik, Ph.D., P.E., PMP., F.ASCE                            Chair and Professor of Civil and Architectural Engineering                                           Tennessee State UniversityThe objective of this paper is to describe and evaluate the development and teaching of a project managementcourse tailored in content and format to meet the needs of civil and architectural engineering seniors.The key characteristics of the course are:    •   Content is specifically optimized to meet the needs of entry level engineers, rather than traditional pre-        career students;    •   Through collaborative, problem and project based learning, students learn to apply project management        concepts, tools and strategies while working as members of diverse teams; and    •   The course design intentionally engages the experience and real-world project responsibilities of the        students, enhancing the learning by all students.Course content, logistics, evaluations, and lessons learned will be discussed in this article.
